About Me!
I am Nadia Bouakaz, I am a French Teacher and I work for a private school in Rochester 2 days a week. I have always been interested in holistic healing. My journey began wit my own personal struggles. So I started my training in Mindfulness with MISP "Mindfulness in school Project". I noticed the increasing level of stress and anxiety around me, especially during and after Covid. I felt the need to train and help young people to have tools to build their resilience and control their emotions as teenagers and during difficult situation. It was amazing to see the effect it had on some students. I decided to further my training to teach my colleagues at school. I then qualified to become an MBSR (Mindfulness based stressed reduction) with the University of Bangor, to deliver the MBSR course. I really have felt the benefit it had on me, and I was really eager to share the tools that I have learnt myself. I have since then, did the most amazing Breathing and Meditation course to enable me to become a Breathwork/Meditation facilitator. I trained with "Just Breath", it has been an amazing experience of well-being, and an experience beyond words! Everyone needs to know how amazing it makes you feel. I have also done my training to become a Pilates mat instructor with "Physical Mind Institute New York", (Sandrine Gasnier Pilates), which was also amazing and really well structured. I also wish to bring Nervous system regulation (Gentle and slow exercises working on fascia), in my offerings. I include gentle sound bath as well to really enhance your experience.
Since I have embarked on my own journey in learning and teaching Mindfulness/ Meditation with sound bath/Breathwork/Pilates/and eventually became a Nervous System regulation Practitioner, I have enjoyed every step of the way.
I am now equipped to help and deliver classes (to individuals, small groups and schools)that will bring you a sense of calm, grounding and well being.
Technics that will help you in your own well being journey and develop skills to create a positive space in your mind, body and soul!

Helping Women reconnect with their breath, body, and calm through mindful movement
Hello, I’m Nadia Bouakaz — a French teacher and certified wellness practitioner passionate about helping others find calm, balance, and connection through mindful movement and breath.
Alongside teaching French part-time at a private school in Rochester, I’ve developed a passion for Mindfulness, Breathwork, Meditation, and Pilates — practices that have transformed my own well-being and inspired me to share their benefits with others.
My journey began through personal challenges and a curiosity about holistic healing. I first trained in Mindfulness with the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MISP), motivated by the growing stress and anxiety I saw in young people, particularly during and after Covid. Witnessing how mindfulness helped students manage emotions and build resilience encouraged me to go further.
I later qualified as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher through the University of Bangor, and trained as a Breathwork and Meditation Facilitator with Just Breathe — experiences that deepened both my understanding and my own sense of inner calm.
To integrate mindful movement, I trained as a Pilates Mat Instructor with the PhysicalMind Institute New York (under Sandrine Gasnier Pilates) and studied Nervous System Regulation and Sound Baths, allowing me to bring a holistic approach to every class and workshop I lead.
Today, I offer sessions for individuals, small groups, and schools, designed to nurture the mind, body, and soul — helping others reconnect with themselves through awareness, movement, and breath.

I had a somatic session with Nadia and I felt very supported as I have mobility issues and she made me feel comfortable and gave me just the right amount of help. On that day I had an issue with my knee and hip and I have to say that the next day it was greatly relieved. We finished with a delightful array of sound from various instruments like Tibetan bowl, it was very pleasant and soothing finish. I am happy to recommend Nadia for her skills in slowing down movement and very gentle approach.

The relaxation part was amazing for me. I felt my chest was full of gratitude. One of the instruments set off a tingling sensation around my temples, something like a gentle vibration that went upwards. I had never experienced anything like this, and it was just delicious. The session also made me feel connected with the other three participants . At one stage, I saw us lying there, like in a cocoon. I felt we were in a bubble where there was no judgment from anyone, just support. It was good to draw an action plan from the Dream Journey – something I have tried to implement since. I found the end of the session powerful too. Nadia, a big ‘thank you’ for sharing your knowledge and making the experience so special.

Nadia's breathing meditation class is deeply relaxing and I found it to be very uplifting. Nadia has a very soothing, calming voice and her instructions are clear and easy to follow, making sure you get the most out of the session.
