Pilates Classes
How does Pilates works?
Pilates is a body conditioning system of precisely executed exercises that sets the body in correct alignment, allowing muscles to be targeted and exercised effectively. It was created by Joseph Hubertus Pilates in the 1920s when he brought his exercise system to New York1. Although Pilates has evolved over the years, its roots remain tied to the philosophy and movement patterns designed by Joseph Pilates more than 90 years ago. Today, Pilates can be performed on both a mat and specialized equipment.

Lower back and neck pain / Scoliosis/ Joint replacement/ Shoulder pain or injury/ Back and neck pain / Knee injuries / Stroke.

The flexible nature of Pilates exercises encourage patients to move at their own pace, gradually increasing the incline of activity to match their capabilities.
Content?
During a Pilates class you might hear a teacher using some quirky ways to explain the movements. This is because the brain responds well to mental pictures. Using imagery that depicts things that everyone can relate to is a helpful way to describe movement. Other small equipment that may be used are resistance bands and the foam roller. Pilates is a type of exercise and body conditioning. It has many health benefits. It highlights precise movements, controlled breathing, and muscle engagement, enhancing muscle tone and stability. Regardless of how you attend the classes, trying Pilates can be a workout game changer, no matter your fitness background.
What are the requirements?
The right clothes can make you more comfortable. Capris or leggings may be a better option than shorts, which can ride up during the moves where you’re laying down and moving your legs above you. As for footwear, you can either be barefoot or wear socks for your session. Also some elastic bands and balls might be required. Please bring a mat as well.
